I agree with you on the part about terrorists (and feminists). Of course, I might say.
When it comes to "design", for instance, I don't think it is equally problematic to redefine the word. Redefining "design" from one neutral (in the sense nor positive nor negative) meaning to another neutral meaning just doesn't have the same consequences.
